Who are we? What’s our story?
Hi! I’m Žiga, the person behind Rocket Bikes – guided ebike tours in Ljubljana. Here’s how we got here.
The funny thing is…
I actually never used bikes.
I always got around by city bus.
Then, in 2016, I bought a €230 bike and, mostly out of curiosity, decided to cycle from Ljubljana all the way to Nordkapp, the northernmost point of Europe.
Along the way, I was hosted by so many kind people. When I returned home, I wanted to give something back, so I started hosting touring cyclists in Ljubljana.
I realized bikes are pretty amazing, so instead of working as an engineer in an office, I became a food delivery rider on a bike. It was more fun, I spent my days outside, and I met interesting people.
Later, I met Tevž from Ljubljana by Bike. Seeing what he had built inspired me to create something of my own, and that’s how Rocket Bikes was born.
Today, I get to share my favorite city with people from all over the world. Forget about boring sightseeing on foot and see Ljubljana how it was meant to be seen—on two wheels! Hope to see you in the City of Dragons soon!
